The same snail, printed three times in three inks, each pull a little further along. She is not fast. She is persistent, which photographs better.
Every print here is pulled by hand from a block I carved. No two pulls are exactly alike. The ink sits a little differently each time, and the block leaves its own small marks in the margins. Printmakers call that chatter, and I leave it in on purpose. It is how you can tell a person made this. Finished prints leave the bench signed and numbered.
